  • January 2018 Beauty Favorites!

There is always something so satisfying about seeing what products others have been loving, am I right?! I’m constantly inspired by others to try new products and share new favorite finds with all of you. Without further ado, here are my beauty favorites for the month of January!

    Bioderma Sensibio Light

I have a slight obsession with the Bioderma Sensibio H2O so I figured I’d give this a try. This moisturizer is exactly what my skin needed this Australian summer! It is a no-frills, lightweight gel cream that absorbs quickly but gives the perfect amount of hydration. I’ve been using it under makeup as a primer and also on those insanely hot nights here in Melbourne.

    Indie Lee COQ-10 Toner

The only thing I don’t like about this toner is the fact that I hadn’t tried it sooner! I was on the hunt for a soothing toner that didn’t contain exfoliating acids and that was alcohol-free. It is hydrating and soothing as it contains aloe vera and hyaluronic acid. Again, it’s a no-frills toner. It won’t take away years of wrinkles or create world peace but I can guarantee that you will look forward to using it in the mornings (or evenings…or both! The more the merrier!) The scent is light, natural and slightly fruity but not at all in a bad way. It feels very refreshing and hydrating when applied with a cotton pad.

    Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer

This product is not for the faint of heart. I say that with a smile on my face because OF COURSE anyone can use this but let me warn you, it is thick! It’s such an interesting product because it almost has a slight tackiness to its texture. My skin was a bit unhappy with me in January so I needed a bit of extra coverage. I would use the skin enhancer to spot conceal rather than use over the entire face. It can be sheered out with a drop of oil or when mixed in with a moisturizer. My favorite way to use it is to apply a lightweight tinted moisturizer all over the skin and then use the Sensual Skin Enhancer to spot conceal. Voila! Spotless, dewy skin at your service!

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid

I know I’m late to the party but I just started using a few Paula’s Choice products this past month and I’ve really been loving them! As I said earlier, my skin was quite active in January. I wanted a product that contained salicylic acid but was quite a few steps above the good old Oxy pads I used in high school (remember those?) This product has such an interesting texture because it’s a liquid but it almost leaves a film on the skin (in a good way.) I was actually looking more for an exfoliating toner and was surprised by the formula but I’ve grown to love it. The salicylic acid exfoliates while the green tea soothes. I’m excited to see how it will perform in the months to come!

Charlotte Tilbury KISSING lipstick in “American Beauty”

Ok, this was a no-brainer. My favorite makeup line of all time brings out a lipstick called “American Beauty.” I had to have it! I have a confession. Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are the only lipsticks that I ever reach for. I have lovely lipsticks from other brands but there is something about Charlotte’s formulas and shades that are just incredible (not to mention the stunning rose gold tube that makes you feel like a million bucks when you use it!) American Beauty is a gorgeous peachy/nude shade that leans on the warm side. I am always drawn to peachy/pink nudes so I wish she would stop releasing them because my soul loves it but my bank account does not!

Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in “Peach Pop.”

Blush is one of my favorite makeup products because it gives that healthy, natural flush that makes us look as if we’ve just gone for a brisk walk outside. Once again, I am drawn to peachy/pink shades as they are super flattering on my medium/olive skin tone. This blush gives the perfect amount of color and adds a little pop to the cheek. It has a sheen but is not shimmery at all. The adorable packaging makes it a fun way to start your day!

    French Girl Organics Sea Spray

I saved the best for last! French Girl Organics is an American brand inspired by the chic, effortless beauty of the French. I love the Sea Spray but I’d have to say that the entire brand is one of my January favorites! I am immediately drawn to anything French related as I love French Pharmacie skincare and am constantly inspired by the French lifestyle (or should I say je ne sais quoi?) The Sea Spray is filled with 3 kinds of sea salt and the gorgeous scent of neroli and jasmine. I use it on damp hair and allow my hair to air dry. I’m left with beachy waves that aren’t crunchy and soft to touch! I also picked up the Creme Lumiere moisturizer (which I’m loving) but still too early to review. They recently began selling French Girl Organics in select Mecca Cosmetica stores here in Australia but you can also purchase directly from their website. C’est Magnifique!

There you have it, my wonderful friends! I hope you enjoyed reading about the products that I’ve been loving so far this year. Now, I’m super curious to see what YOU have been loving! Leave me a comment below with your favorite product that you’ve been loving recently (I’ll do my best not to purchase every single one of them!)

    Keep shining your light!

    Love, Carrie xo
