So much has changed during the pandemic. My beauty routine is no exception! I remember back to the beginning of 2020 when we were all Marie Kondo’ing for our lives and getting rid of items that no longer brought us joy.
For me, that meant cleaning out my entire beauty collection and basically starting from scratch. And I haven’t looked back since!
I’ve recently completely fallen in love with the effortless glow that cream products give. They liven up the skin and are perfect for no makeup makeup days or work from home afternoons. Here are the ones that I’m currently reaching for daily!
Ilia Multi Stick
Oh, she is my favorite. This is the simplest, chicest form of blush I’ve ever tried. The formula isn’t the most long lasting but I don’t mind. It goes on smoothly and leaves behind the most natural flush as the day progresses. It’s simple to reapply and the shade range is stunning. My favorite is “All Of Me,” a punchy watermelon hue.
Westman Atelier Highlight Stick
This is essentially the highlighter of my dreams. It’s the creamy formula I’ve always searched for but have just recently discovered. The shade “Nectar” is a peachy/champagne shade and it gives skin a slight wet effect. It doesn’t move foundation on the skin and the packaging is the most luxurious thing. If I’m paying luxury beauty prices, I expect nothing less than what Westman Atelier has to offer. Her products are worth every.single.penny.
Jones Road Miracle Balm
How do I talk about this product and this brand without throwing my computer with excitement?! Bobbi Brown created a new brand. It is perfect. Miracle Balm is simple, effortless and chic. You “break the seal” when the balm first arrives and then you just go to town. I kind of feel like a kid finger painting when I use these balms and I love it. The “Bronze” shade is my favorite as it makes me look as if I just left the beach. Literally. No matter what makeup look I’m doing, I always finish with rubbing a bit of Bronze Miracle Balm in between my fingers and tapping onto my cheeks, nose and forehead. Obsessed.
Westman Atelier Super Loaded Highlight in “Peau De Peche”
This was a splurge, for sure. But this product is truly what cream makeup dreams are made of. The consistency is something unlike anything I’ve ever experienced from a beauty product. It is buttery and applies like a dream. I don’t use this as a highlighter as it’s a bit too deep toned. I love using on the eyes, directly on the cheeks, bridge of nose and just anywhere I want a bit of glow. I can’t wait to try her other shades! Peau De Soleil is next on my list for summer.
Tower28 Blush
This was a fun find for me in 2020. I love the simplicity of these blushes and for $20, I think the quality is phenomenal. Tower28 has been taking over the beauty world lately and I’m so intrigued by their minimalistic approach. I find that this blush formula is the longest lasting out of my cream product collection. If I want my blush to last (under a mask), I’ll grab one of these. Power Hour is a warm, tangerine tone and she’s my favorite.
I’m loving my simplified, new approach to beauty and I can’t wait to explore it a bit more as life begins to return to normal. My new “beat face” consists of a tinted moisturizer, cream blush and bronzer, some eyeliner and mascara. Will I ever go back?! We shall see.
