It takes a lot for me to fall in love with a foundation. I have quite the criteria to consider a foundation, (for lack of a better term), “holy grail.” It must feel right, look right, and contain the right ingredients.
Enter Bobbi Brown’s Intensive Skin Serum Foundation SPF25. Can I get a slow clap for the SPF25?! Bobbi’s team just sent this my way LAST WEEK and I am already dedicating a blog post to it.
That doesn’t happen often around here!
The formula has been around for awhile but what is super exciting is the new pump packaging. Droppers are beautiful to look at but they are not functional. The gorgeous new pump packaging makes the product not only easily dispensable but insanely chic to have on the vanity. The bottle feels weighted and expensive, which I appreciate when purchasing a “luxury” beauty product.
Enough about the beautiful packaging, let’s talk formula and coverage!
It is truly a “serum foundation” in the sense that it feels nearly weightless on the skin. The formula is lightweight but not overly runny or watery. It gives a beautiful, dewy, lightweight coverage that is buildable. I’ve found that using a fluffy synthetic foundation brush like the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is the best way to apply. A Beautyblender will work just fine but you’ll definitely get a lighter coverage.
I love that it contains an SPF of 25. I still wear my SPF underneath but the 25 is an added bonus! It doesn’t leave a white cast and doesn’t feel “sunscreeny”. Yes, I made a new word.
I think the future of foundation is lightweight and breathable. Gone are the days of feeling suffocated in your own skin. We want dewy, we want glow, and we want simple! Bobbi Brown truly nailed it with this one and I can’t wait to wear it throughout the summer months and into winter.
