  • Things That Bring Me Joy Vol I

In times of stress and uncertainty, I often find that the tiniest of things bring me joy. Something as simple as a new book or a great cup of coffee can inherently brighten my days. I thought, perhaps, they could do the same for you : )

Without further ado, a few things that have been bringing a bit of magic to my days at home.

    Fresh Plants

I do not have a green thumb. How I WISH I did! Someday, if and when I have a house, I will learn to keep a garden. Until then, I have been buying a bit of greenery here and there just to add a bit of life to our home. My favorites have been hydrangeas and fresh eucalyptus from Trader Joe’s. The hydrangeas are usually around $6 and the eucalyptus is $3.99. A small price to pay for so much joy!

    Essential Oil Diffuser

I used to own a diffuser and it was lovely. However, it did not survive the trip to Australia! I decided to order a new one from Target a few weeks ago and honestly…best decision I’ve made in a very long time. I LOVE this little diffuser! It gives off the perfect amount of mist, the warm light is so calming and the diffuser itself is just so chic. I may eventually order another so that I can keep one in the bedroom/bath and have one in our kitchen. The price is under $20 and it is so small and adorable.

    Epsom Salt Baths

My #1 favorite quarantine beauty must have…epsom salts. I have taken epsom salt baths for years to soothe my muscles, reduce anxiety and bloat, and to just help clear my mind. There is nothing like finishing up your day with a warm epsom salt bath (with a bit of bubbles or baking soda added if you’re feeling extra fancy.)

    Sunsets

Sometimes, the best things are those that you cannot buy.

    Christmas Movies

The Christmas movies came out in my house far before Christmas in July even happened! Christmas movies are pure joy. There are so many cheesy ones on Netflix and the Hallmark channel that don’t require much “thinking and processing.” I mean, who could be sad while watching “The Princess Switch?!”

    Afternoon Iced Coffee

Such a simple little treat but so yummy! I’m still trying to figure out my coffee game here in the US after having just moved back from the coffee capital of the world! I miss my almond cappuccinos but a bit of cold brew with almond milk usually does the trick on a sunny afternoon.

Stay tuned for Volume II! Stay healthy, stay well. You are doing great!

I totally agree with all of these apart from the coffee – I just don’t like it, but water with a slice of lemon is my jam! I’d also add chocolate into this mix – chocolate and a good book! Plus I love a chat with my nieces and nephews! x
